Type A silica gel, also known as fine-pore silica gel, consists of transparent and semi-transparent particles. It is categorized into two types: spherical and block-shaped. The primary component is SiO₂·nH₂O, which is insoluble in water and inorganic acids but soluble in hydrofluoric acid and concentrated caustic alkali solutions. It exhibits high mechanical strength and excellent wear resistance. Its internal structure features a pore volume of 0.35–0.5 ml/g, a pore size of 20–40 Å, and a specific surface area of ≥600 m²/g.

Type A silica gel also known as Narrow pore silica gel, is transparent and translucent particles. It is divided into two types: spherical and block. The main component is SiO2·nH2O, insoluble in water and inorganic acid, soluble in hydrofluoric acid and concentrated caustic soda solution. High mechanical strength, good wear resistance. The pore volume is 0.35-0.5ml/g, pore size 20-40Å, specific surface area ≥600㎡/g.

This product is an important adsorbent suitable for drying various industrial gases such as air, oxygen, hydrogen, and organic gases. It is also used for moisture protection in instruments, electrical appliances, textiles, food, pharmaceuticals, clothing, footwear, containers, and various other packaged items. Additionally, it is applied in the dehydration and purification of organic products, air humidity regulation, and the adsorption of flammable and explosive gases like acetylene from compressed air.
